Eve Ang: 17-Year-Old Leader Transforming Ethical AI in Healthcare

At just 17, Singaporean youth leader Eve Ang is already making a global impact on healthcare. She has dedicated her teenage years to a bold mission: making cancer treatment decisions faster, more accurate, and more equitable through ethical, sustainable artificial intelligence (AI).

Eve’s journey began personally. When her mother was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer, she witnessed the limitations and inequities of existing diagnostic systems. Waiting for critical decisions, spiraling costs, and inconsistent accuracy revealed the urgent need for better solutions. Rather than being discouraged, Eve transformed this experience into determination.

That determination led her to found Immunova AI, a nonprofit developing socially responsible AI for precision medicine. Immunova’s mission is to democratize access to care, ensuring that advances in oncology are affordable and accessible globally, particularly in low-resource settings.

The organization’s flagship project is a multimodal AI platform that integrates multiple sources of medical data to support faster, more accurate treatment decisions. Currently in beta with partner labs at Harvard Medical School, Yale School of Medicine, and the University of Bergen, the platform has already improved diagnostic accuracy, reduced costs, and accelerated treatment planning.

Eve’s work is deeply collaborative. Through Immunova AI, she has united hundreds of youth innovators from over 45 countries, creating an international network of young scientists, engineers, and advocates shaping the future of healthcare responsibly. This model not only accelerates innovation but also empowers young people worldwide to take action on pressing medical challenges.

Her leadership has earned global recognition. Eve has spoken at Harvard OpenBio’s Revolutionizing Life Conference, the Science Summit 2025, and sessions aligned with the 80th United Nations General Assembly, and was named September 2025 Young Planet Leader. These platforms amplify her voice in conversations about technology, healthcare, and ethics.

Eve emphasizes that breakthroughs in AI must be responsible, ethical, and sustainable. For her, AI is not a replacement for human care but a tool to augment clinical decisions, protect patient privacy, prevent bias, and ensure accessibility. She is showing the world how AI can serve humanity’s most urgent health needs while upholding ethical standards.

Perhaps most remarkable is Eve’s age. At 17, she is leading global collaborations, speaking at international conferences, and shaping technologies with life-saving potential. Her story proves that age is no barrier to impact and that the next generation of leaders is already driving innovation in science and social change.

Eve Ang’s journey, from witnessing her mother’s cancer battle to becoming a global leader in precision medicine, illustrates the power of resilience, vision, and responsible technology. She is not just imagining a better future for healthcare; she is actively building it.
